No More Tomorrow

(Wind blowing...) (Fire crackling...) (A dog barking in the distance...) (Radio Static...) "...Victory..." "...Doesn't feel like victory..." "...Too many names..." "...Too many graves..." ------------------------------------------------

The smoke finally settling... But the silence feels worse. We won a battle... Lost damn near everybody who stood beside us. Victory tastes bitter when the people you love ain't here to celebrate it. I walked through what's left of the camp this morning... Empty sleeping bags... Cold coffee cups... Letters nobody got to finish writing. The war keeps moving... But time somehow stopped. ------------------------------------------------

Maybe there ain't... No more tomorrow. Maybe all we really got is right now. So tell somebody you love 'em. Hold 'em tighter. Because tomorrow... Ain't promised anymore. ------------------------------------------------

Found another little girl holding her mother's necklace. Didn't cry... Didn't scream... Just kept asking when she was coming back. How the hell do you answer that? I've seen soldiers break. I've seen strangers pray together. I've seen people share their last meal with somebody they never met. Funny how the world ended... And somehow... People finally remembered how to love each other. ------------------------------------------------

The stars still hiding. The sky still broken. But somewhere... Somebody's still hoping. Maybe that's enough. ------------------------------------------------

If there ain't... No more tomorrow... Let's make tonight matter. Let's keep each other alive. Let's make sure every soul we lost... Never disappears. ------------------------------------------------

(Radio Static...) "...Recon Team Alpha..." "...We've intercepted something..." "...It isn't a transmission..." "...It's a map..." "...They're building something..." "...Something enormous..." (Long pause...) "...Move now." (Huge cinematic impact.)
