(INTRO) The Sky Opened

(Emergency Alert) "This is the United States Emergency Broadcast System..." "We repeat..." "This is NOT a test..." "Unknown aerial objects have entered Earth's atmosphere..." "If you are hearing this..." "...find shelter immediately." (Heavy radio static) "We have lost communication with New York..." "...Los Angeles..." "...London..." "...Tokyo..." "...God help us." ------------------------------------------------

Last night the sky looked normal... Now this motherfucker's bleeding light. Stars started shifting like somebody grabbed the heavens and ripped the whole damn ceiling open. People standing in the streets... Nobody talking. Nobody screaming. Just staring... Then every phone died. Every TV went black. Every satellite disappeared. Military birds filled the sky, jet engines screaming like they already knew this shit wasn't a war we could win. Children asking, "Mama... what's happening?" Ain't nobody got an answer. Churches filled up. Bars emptied. Highways locked. People abandoning everything they owned just to hold somebody one last fucking time. ------------------------------------------------

When the sky opened... Hope closed. When the sky opened... Every prayer sounded louder than every bullet. When the sky opened... Humanity finally realized... We were never alone. ------------------------------------------------

Missiles launched... Nothing. Jets disappeared. Nothing. Tanks rolled through burning cities... Nothing. Whatever the hell came through those clouds wasn't scared of us. Buildings collapsing... Smoke swallowing the skyline... Fire reflecting off those giant damn ships like hell itself floated above Earth. Some people prayed. Some people ran. Some people stood there frozen... trying to convince themselves they were dreaming. But dreams don't smell like burning concrete. Dreams don't sound like mothers crying while the whole fucking world falls apart. ------------------------------------------------

"This is... Anthony..." "If anybody can hear this..." "Don't waste your bullets." "They're not here to scare us..." "They're here to erase us." (Long radio static...) (Alien horn rises...) (Transition into Track 2)
